Thrifty Thursday
Tomorrow is the big day!
We get to move into our space at the Redlands Galleria!
Kyle is going to start painting and removing the one million holes in the walls, while I spray paint shelves and tag our vintage goodies.
Vintage pieces I've really grown to love.
I feel like a foster parent who has fallen in love and now they have to leave to go to their forever home.
As I tag everything tonight I'll take a few photos so that you can see a few of the them.
It's really exciting, ya know!

Wednesday Tip
Ladies, today we are talking makeup.
And how to give your face a quick lift and cover your under eye circles.
Secret tricks!
This is me before: (and meet my major under eye circles!)
And how to give your face a quick lift and cover your under eye circles.
Secret tricks!
And I am showing you the brutal truth...
me without foundation! It's scary! And I've warned you.
This is me before: (and meet my major under eye circles!)
First step:
Use your concealer and draw a triangle. Start at the corner of your eye, to the corner of your nostril and back to the corner of your eye again.
Step two:
Blend in your triangle. Blending your concealer upwards (always upwards).
Step three: Set with powder.
Step four:
Finish with your everyday makeup and your done!
It's like magic.
Reason # 111 why makeup is so good.
Happy Wednesday!

Jingle Bells
Well Christmas is over,
and it was a really good one.
We travel the roads like mad men for 3 days straight going from one house to the next: visiting, opening, eating, laughing, cooking...and being dead dog tired.
This year kyle & I decided since we are opening the shop (in 6 days eeeeee!!!), that we'd focus on that instead of gifts to each other (ugh! priorities)...
BUT...
we ended up getting each other a lil' something...
- like a new tripod. Helloooooo, family photos takin' with ease!
- My gift to kyle...a hand drawn photo of the 2 of us. It makes me smile.
I hope you all had a great Christmas!

Since I lost the one on eBay, he found me a replacement for a third of the price! Picker of the year award goes to Kyle Fisher.
- AND the best gift were these sweet faces on Christmas morning!!
I love these characters & their sweet morning eyes!
I hope you all had a great Christmas!

Blue Chair
We had a yard sale and decided it was time to sell our baby rocking chair. In a small house, you really need to keep to the necessities, I'm learning.
Although, I knew it was time to let it go, I was really sad to see it packed up and sent off.
I rocked my sweet boys in that chair, ya know.
Late nights, early mornings... rocking, feeding, singing, loving & bonding... all held up in this blue rocking chair my mom bought for me when Brandon was born.
So we snapped a few last minute shots of them all sitting in it together.

Good things beside this bad weather...
1) The hubs finally decided to take a vacation! Today we thrifted, ate sandwiches, took a nap...it's nice having him around all day.
2) I won my first giveaway!!!!!
Danielle from Sometimes Sweet had an amazing Christmas giveaway and I entered before bed last night. And when I woke up I had a text from a friend that I won! It was like Christmas morning.
Thanks Danielle!!! I can't wait for my treasures to arrive!
3) I finally finished all my sewing projects for Christmas!!
4) On a not so good note, our washer broke today. Well actually started smoking, right as I started laundry. Looks like a new washer is on my Christmas list this year.

Big time Xmas Show
Ayden had his 1st Christmas Show at his school on Saturday.
and he looked pretty darn handsome.
and he told you too.
This boy does not lack in self confidence.
He did great.
His school is SO good.
Words can't even express how much I love this place.
It's funny how a sweet lil' Christmas song,
sung by your sweet boy on a stage
makes you so incredibly excited.

Do-Over
Wow.
Today was a rough one.
By 9:30 am I was begging for it to be over.
Ayden broke one of my favorite glasses.
Which can't be replaced.
And glass shattered everywhere.
Lucas was screaming.
I had enough dishes in my sink to circle the planet.
Laundry was everywhere.
Glass was everywhere.
I grabbed Ayden (he was on the counter) & told him to go to his room.
He yelled at me & told me that "You're a bad mommy."
>>>? Those words are so hard to hear, even though I know he doesn't mean it.
Then it was Lucas's turn.
You see some serious bad habits have been formed with my baby boy.
Not entirely his fault.
Partly mine, and partly because our house just doesn't fit our families needs anymore and that leaves Lucas pretty close to a refugee.
My bed, his crib, back room, boys room...it's tiring.
But today I started a new routine, which he did not like and that fight lasted a really long time.
After his nap, we headed to Walmart. I really should have stayed at home.
Have I told you how much I detest Walmart?
Well, I do.
And today especially.
Last minute Christmas shopping and Walmart should never be together in a sentence ever.
So while battling the masses, Lucas found my dish soap and dumps the entire bottle all over my cart. All over him. And all over me.
Deep breaths.
Then Ayden starts coughing.
and coughing.
and coughing.
and coughing.
Enter asthma attack.
I don't have his inhaler.
I don't have his breathing machine.
And I have to pick up Brandon in 10 minutes.
So here I am covered in soap.
With a cart covered in soap (things I really needed).
A soapy baby,
and a boy who is having an asthma attack.
I felt so alone at that moment.
I quickly grabbed a coke (caffeine works),
gave it to Ayden
and left.
I did make it to pick up Brandon,
which when you're having a really hard day it's the little accomplishments that count.
I'm looking forward to Thursday :)

13 months
He's an actual big kid now!
13 months old.
He loves to sing and dance.
This boy gets down (like for real, he bends his knees and sinks his booty...I don't know how he does it. I think he has a lil' Aunt Lauren in him)haha!

My sweet husband!
Kyle has been gone since Sunday.
And I am missing him like crazy right now.
Life just feels off when he's not around.
I miss the sound of First 48 starting.
Looking over at him in his chair picking his nose.
The sound of his snore.
Just seeing his face.
He shaved off his beard before he left, ya know.
Not to mention having another set of hands around this house.
Lucas is sick.
And I've been staying up until one every night crafting.
And...I'm in over my head..
I somewhere decided to make.every.gift.
(Not for the boys though...they made me promise that I wouldn't make them anything. bummer.)
I was thinking about getting a babysitter,
but not to go out.
To take a bath--ALONE.
Read a book in my bed.
And then take a nap.
Oh and then I wake up to a clean house.
Perfect.

(it's my Christmas present)
and it's giving me heartburn and anxiety!
Last minute bidders really chap my hide!
(****post edit: I lost the bid war! Someone bid at the last minute leaving me no time to re-bid. I'm so bummed. This piece of furniture belonged in my house! booo!)

Big News Part 2!
Oh yay!
Okay, where do I begin?
For such a long time now I've been hoarding a rather large collection of vintage goods in our tiny house in the hood, and awhile back decided to begin selling them on etsy. Which I love. All 10 sales :)
But although etsy is great, my dream has always been to open a vintage shop of my own. And Kyle too!
Kyle is the yard sale king and he has a great eye for vintage.
He's bought so many great large furniture pieces, record players, TV's. He's definitely hooked.
One night during a sweet pillow talk session between the husband and I, we finally decided that we just need to do it.
So last week we signed our papers for a space at the Redlands Galleria on State St. in Redlands and it opens January 1st!!!
It's going to be filled with beautiful mid-century & mid-century modern pieces a la Mad Men. Set up to look like a really stylish living room.
I can't wait. We are going to do a mock set up soon (when Kyle gets back from Arizona).
Although parting with most of the stuff is going to be so hard.
I just know it. I mean you have to see some of this stuff.
It's beautiful.
Right now we feel like vintage foster parents, hoping our babies are going to go to good homes.
Now...
We have so much to do and I can't wait to fill you all in on all the details before the big day.

Fat boy
Our fat boy got a Xmas sweater.
I can't help but laugh and smile every time I see him.
He's like a sweet reindeer prancing around my yard.
He just sees an opportunity for everyone to come scratch his belly!

Thanks!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
Over here in our neck of the woods, we had two.
One with my mother in law.
Cooking with her on Thanksgiving has become a bit of a tradition.
And then one made by yours truly.
Which "blue eyes" throughly enjoyed.
We had to hose off his chair when the day was over.
And I personally ate WAYYYY too much.
I actually got sick Saturday with the stomach bug that is going around, which helped me not eat anymore
so I guess it wasn't too bad.

My Loot
Today while the boys were at a playdate, I went on my own playdate....at Goodwill.
And I got lucky.
There is nothing better than "popping" on some good finds at the thrift store.
My Loot:
2 heavy 60's green glasses
A green glass candy dish
A green aluminum tray
And a bright orange divided candy dish...
There was a whole stack of those aluminum green trays...and I only bought one.
I think I'm regretting that now...
Nesting Dolls
On my birthday, my husband (who thankfully is a really great gift giver) surprised me with a set of Russian Nesting Doll plates. Aren't they so sweet?
I can't wait to use them for Thanksgiving...

Bone Daddy
Ayden is a special child.
He truly lives in a world of his own and each day when I wake up I get to hear a little about his world.
Our morning went like this,
"Mom, me & my skeleton dad like to eat bones."
"Oh, really? What do bones taste like?"
"Oh they taste like ice cream."
"And where do you get these bones?"
"My skeleton daddy buys them at the bone store. Don't worry mom."
"Oh, okay bud."
Right now, Ayden has an invisible Skeleton Dad.
He's the bad daddy that let's him get away with all the mischief his real good daddy won't.
Isn't he quite clever?

Big plans
Kyle asked what I wanted to do for my birthday and I said, "dinner with my nearest and dearest, in a forest with twinkly lights."
My brother in law told me he thinks I live in a fantasy land. And I think he's right. But 30 is kinda of a big deal. Right?
And when I showed up on Saturday night, I honestly don't think it could have been anymore beautiful!
My husband is a machine.
And my sister in law is a wiz, no craft is too big for this girl.
I thought being 30 meant that I would all of the sudden feel a serious dose of permanent maturity.
And a few wrinkles...
But instead all I kept thinking was, "here I am surrounded with these incredible people who I get to share my life with, people I love more than words could ever express, eating really great food in a "forest" with twinkly lights."
I felt really lucky.
Turning 30 wasn't so bad after all.
