Project Saturday

This Saturday is Project Saturday.

I am going to finally finish my DIY headboard. It's been months in the making. Apparently as I've gotten older, I've realized I don't ever finish things that I start.

Here is the lovely fabric I found for the headboard:

Mr. Fisher & I have been in the process of redecorating our pad. A little winter clean house and a few furniture pieces later...our place in beginning to come together.

For Christmas my sweet mother in law gave me one of the greatest gifts of all time, a gift certificate to the antique store. Which I put to good use and found an amazing buffet table for my living room. They just don't make things like they used too.

The antique store is my favorite place to relax.

Anyway, rambling on...wish me luck on finishing my headboard!

I'll show you the finished product once I'm finished.

Once upon a New Year

New Years Eve cannot come soon enough.

Our family is taking a trip to Yosemite, to celebrate the New Year amongst the snowy mountain tops. Spontaneous plans made by the husband himself (My heart overflows when he plans stuff for us to do as a family).

6 hours on the road, with a mom, a dad and 2 boys. Booger can't make it, he has plans and it would interfere with his napping schedule. He's a fat boy, what can I say?

Lost

My lovely son finally lost his first tooth....

In the middle of the night.

and now it's no where to be found.

Does the tooth fairy come even though there is no tooth under the pillow?

I don't think I'll be vacuuming their room for awhile.

I'm so sad that it is M.I.A.

I've waited so long.

I like to keep things his body let's go of.

A belly button...and a tooth here and there. What's a mom to do?

Who doesn't love a toothless grin?

Christmas Morning

Was Beautiful.

We ate fresh fruit and German pancakes.

"JACK!" Is his favorite.

Great Table Conversation.

Good Faces:

Some of my favorite gifts:

Jane Austen Novels. iHome. A Precious Clock.

A Jewelry Stand.

And a picture from my beautiful sister, that she painted herself.

Christmas Eve

Is Tradition:

Every year since I can remember Christmas Eve has been spent at my Grandma's house.

Fudge, peanut brittle, deviled eggs, the worlds best potato salad, wassel, meatballs (which I didn't get to enjoy this year) and my incredibly funny family. Nothing has ever changed.

believe

We started reading The Polar Express last week each night and tonight is movie night.

"At one time most my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found one Christmas that she could no longer hear its sweet sound. Though I've grown old, the bell still rings for me as it does for all who truly believe."

My mother in law gave this book to the boys a few Christmas's ago. She wrote, ".. to my dearest boys, may you always truly believe."

Pleasantville

Today I asked myself, "where are we?"

A free carriage ride with Santa?

This is the "Is Santa really sitting across from me?" face. He didn't say much on the carriage ride.

Christmas Carolers?

People shouting "Merry Christmas" from cars and strangers handing out free gift bags.
Today was something worth cherishing and made me love where we live.

Blitzen is Missin'

My Big Boy had his first Christmas play.
He was an elf in a candy shop.

Although he was a bit embarrassed to sing the "lollipop" song, he stole the show!

CPC

My Fisher had his first official "CPC" Xmas Party last night.

Every bone in my body was so proud of him and how far he has come.

And how much he honors his employees for their hard work.

My man is driven.
Driven to succeed by the grace of God.
dimples the size of craters...

"toast" best served, blurry**
**sorry for the bad photos...my phone has been my image taker these days and although I love my phone the photos can be not so good sometimes. I'm a bit envious of my friends and their photos on their blogs...they are so crisp and bright...I need a new camera?

It's a Wrap

I am officially done Christmas Shopping!

This is worth celebrating!

Now it's time to start wrapping.... I found the coolest, vintage style wrapping paper. It's almost too pretty to use. I just hope people enjoy it as much as I do.

We also made ornaments this year and glittered snowflakes, which I'm attaching to each present.

It's all in the details folks.

Have a great weekend. I feel a cold coming on...

Gingerbread House

Welcome Home!

Peek thru the"Sprinkle-Stained Glass" windows...

My husband made the icicles. What can I say? They were his specialty.

Licorice, marshmallows...and a capri sun??

The boys pretended to be reindeer's.

Have you ever noticed that every picture I share, my boys have no shirts on? We look like a bunch of nuts who don't wear clothes. Ha ha! I promise I do put clothes on them.
The face of a proud man!

today's to do

1) get warm. my bones are freezing. I need a "snugglie."
(have you seen those on t.v.? they are crazy but I ask myself how I've lived this long without one)

2) finish our xmas cards.
please email me your address so I can spread some xmas cheer your way.

3) finish our gingerbread house. it has taken days...

4) Oh i am so behind on laundry. Not a very good wife these days and my poor children are close to recycling the chones.
This makes me sad, but I have no will to get even close to those machines.

i am rambling on about nothing.
time to go.
I promise to have something excellent to write about soon...

Rain

I love you more than words can say.

I just wish I was at home enjoying your bliss and not thru my office window, but never the less you are splendid.

You bring cold weather for the holidays, snowy mountain tops for Christmas, and an excuse to wear winter coats & boots because you actually need to wear them!

You are the best.

Always entertaining...

Lucky Me

I have to be pretty darn lucky.
I have a rockin' husband (do you still use that word? I do, it's funny)

He's very handsome.
Cool to boot.
Our protector.
Spiritual director.
Lover.
Best Friend.

When the world is in chaos, he is my constant.

#2 : Warm Goodness

We drank Hot Cocoa with Marshmallows to celebrate the spirit of the season.

We sat at the table.
With warm mugs in our hands.
Mountains of marshmallows, as tall as tree tops.
and chocolate mustaches above the grins of the 2 wild ones.

Brandon prayed before dinner the other night and thanked God that his mommy has planned Christmas for us every night.
He's very sweet and made me happy that I'm his mommy.
