Our T-Giving

This year it was me & my kitchen. I'll be honest...I was worried.

But we made an agreement: I'll try my best to completely follow the recipes, kitchen - you cooperate and make sure my food is fully cooked.

The kitchen made it happen.

Tyler's recipes were SO good. We were thankful for him this year.

I am incredibly thankful.

Healthy As Can Be!

Our house is back in the saddle.

100% healthy and ready to consume some massive amounts of food.

Yesterday my mama came over and cleaned my carpets. I know...I know, "How could I make my mom clean my carpets?"

Reply...because she is so good at it!

Sometimes the help from your mama is all you need in life! Lil' kid flashbacks, I don't know.
Whatever it is, I welcome the help around the house.

Big News!
I am preparing for my first ever Thanksgiving dinner at our house!

I've had tons of help from Tyler, my friend from Food Network & I am planning my own Ultimate Thanksgiving Dinner!

Be Back Soon

The Fisher house is ill.

It has taken hold of our family like hostages!
And is spreading like wild fire.

Nothing interesting to share, except lots of tired bodies.

We will be back soon.

Unmentionables

My littlest one is obsessed with unmentionables.
He can't sit next to you without his lil' hand moving under the sleeve of your shirt to the promise land...your bra.
I've lost many a bra this way. And been in a few uncomfortable situations...when the showing of a bra probably isn't the greatest party favor.

He has no shame in his game....it's an addiction.

The story goes every night, when mom gets into her PJ's...a loud voice from around the corner yells..."Mom, bra now!"

I'm worried about his future wife.

Hunter's & Gatherers

We hunted for bears today at the park.

The fort:

No Bears found...only a few squirrels.

Bear tracks?

The Hunters:
Finders keepers.

We had a good day.

Day Off

It's 9:51 am and I am at home.
Where I was meant to be.

Let's see, took the B to school.

A and B hugged thru the window for a good 2 minutes.

"See ya Brah-der!"

"See ya Ayden!"

I'm happy they have each other. I don't think anymore love could have fit in my car at that moment. But I do wish there was more.

Had coffee.

Danced. We like to dance at our house.

The A-ster has some sweet moves!

Laundry...done!

Floors...sparklin'!

Dishes...wish they were. Saved the worst for last.

Later, parent teacher conference for the B! I love hearing his progress and seeing all his handmade goodies.

PS- I officially have another pregnant friend...I wish I could be added to that basket.

Here is one way to eat your veggies:

3.

Duck - Duck - Fish!

Saturday while my husband and the B were at the Pomona Raceway doing boy stuff, Ayden and I, along with my sister and niece Lily fed some ducks at Ford Park.

Ayden thought the whole slice would be a good idea.

Best Friends. Lakeside.

Here fishy, fishy, fishy... minus all the fish flying through the air.

Handmade fishing poles. And we're off!

Lily & her "brothers"

My niece Lily loves her "brothers."

She hangs with them, dances with them, laughs with them, hugs them...you know the basics.

She tries real hard to do what they do.

Jumping off stairs, running through puddles.... but she can be quite clumsy at times.

Although they aren't really "brothers," I think it's so beautiful that she looks at them this way. With so much love and admiration. Protectors and buds.
She has some pretty cool brothers.

Splendor in the Grass

Laying in the grass...my mind wanders...
  • My mom...how she sacrifices so much for the people she loves and that her body is beginning to fall apart. And how I'm not ready for her to get sick. I want her to be around forever. I'm selfish.
  • My friends...and how I really want to be a great friend for them. They deserve that.
  • Brandon...your compassion and heart is a gift, don't let others take that away from you.

"28"

{(1) me (2) card/flowers (3) CPK (4) pink balloons (5) Ayden's cheese (6) new painting from Mr. Fisher (7) pumpkin cheesecake}

Today...28.
I'm happy to get older. With all the "older" brings. (Insert song..."When I grow up I wanna be an old woman.")
The husband really made it special.
He even bought me a new phone, and if you know us - this is very funny.
It's over fast. But it was good.

Veggie Tales

If I haven't told you yet...I have the worlds best mother in law.

For my birthday she made me a vegetable and herb garden.

(This pictures don't do it justice...sorry...my camera is a little under the weather)

It is splendid and will bring our family many "gifts" through out the season.

We planted:

1) Onions
2) Celery
3) Lettuce
4) Rosemary
5) Lavender
6) Parsley
7) Snow peas
8) Beans

This was such a great birthday present. I don't think I could have asked for anything better.
She is great! And Ayden had a great time worm hunting!

yesterday

was our 4 year anniversary.

My husband sent me these:

He told me my name is safe on his lips and that he is so happy to have spent the last 4 years of his life with me.

I thought that was an incredibly beautiful thing to say.

We ate Mexican food. Talked about life, work and a vacation.

We shared a burrito, as old couples do.

We went to Augie's and had coffee. Talked art and phones.

You know, serious conversation.

It was nice to just be and to celebrate a moment so pure with someone I love so much.

rockin' my vote

Today I felt very patriotic.

Proud to be an American.

Proud that I live in a country where my vote really does count.

Proud that I am an individual and cast my vote - my way to help other people.
Proud that I am part of history.
And proud that I am part of change.
Tomorrow is a new & brighter day.

"Mingers"

"Mom...play mingers?"

"Yes sir!"

"Mingers" is a game we play often. Imagination is a necessity and all you need are your "Mingers." (Mingers are Fingers in the Fisher house)

So you take your "Mingers" and you make a person; you know your pointer finger, middle finger and thumb? It makes a dandy action figure.

Then you can use your "Mingers" to walk, talk and dance.

Our "Mingers" had a dance party.
It was delightful.

But the icing on the cake was this,

"Me lub you Mom."

Finally!!!
I've waiting so long to hear these words from you my dear sweet Ayden.

Sunday, November 2, 2008

this is how the story goes...

1) we tricked & treated

2) wrestled crowds of people like alligators

3) ayden not into wearing his costume.
(all my hard work...maybe the cardboard box was uncomfortable?)

4) got home

5) ate chocolate

6) watched gremlins
