Baby it's Cold Outside...

We had snow!
So we ventured out to play.

Snow angels.

They had some serious snowball fights.

Toby didn't like the snow so much.

It's nice to be able to actually experience the different seasons...
besides "hot."

Homemade

Sometimes I dream that I was part of something amazing, where I floated in clouds and was shot to the moon.

Then I wake up, and realize that I was.

The day our son, Lucas Allen Fisher was born.

It was one of the greatest moments in my life.

There wasn't one minute where I felt alone.
I was surrounded by my husband & these beautiful strong women in my life.

It was spiritual, overwhelming, loving, intense, painful, beautiful, peaceful...

It was perfect. Like Christmas morning.

Not that it didn't hurt, because it did.
It really did.
But I think I needed to feel that pain, to get to that moment where I thought I couldn't go any further...because it's at the moment where we reach into ourselves and grab a hold of the courage we need to finish.
And when he came into this world, it was just us.
We sat, we stared, counted fingers & toes, looked at his face, smiled, laughed,
and as I sat there holding this baby of ours welcoming him to our family,
I realized that I was part of something truly amazing.
I was shot to the heavens and was blessed with this beautiful boy who fits our family to a T!

Family Dinner

Sunday we had a family dinner at my mother in laws house to
welcome Lucas to our family.
It was also our way of answering any questions about our
home birth - to ease their minds & let them know what the plan will be once Lucas is here.
It was a great way to celebrate our new boy!

It was such an emotional day for me.
Seeing my husband so passionate about our home birth,
answering every question like a seasoned pro
and seeing my grandma cry because she was so happy for our family & proud of Kyle...
made me realize how lucky we are to have our family
and
each other.
