How could you not...

love this hunk of love?

Funny Footnote:

Booger dressed up for brandon's party and then kicked some major doggy butt. "Billy the Bulldog" was peeing on his turf & he wasn't having it.

Afterwards he was so pooped that a hot dog was laying right by his butt and he didn't even eat it.

Poor guy!

Top Top

The Sartorlist is probably one of my favorite blogs.
Might be old news to some, but if not you should definitely take a peek.
If you are a self professed people watcher...like me...you'll love it.
The photos are art and the people are kooky.
It's a win win.

Fond-Ewww!

I made an over the top fondue dinner last night.

I used a cheese that....I had never used before...and it smelt like rotten feet on a really hot summer day.

It was sick.

But watching the boys stab their veggies like caveman, was super and made up for the funky cheese stewing under my nose.

Even the husband couldn't bear the Gruyere!

Weeeednesday Craft Result

Take a peek at my sweetie pie of a craft that I finished yesterday on Craft Wednesday.

It reminds me of what a boy would carve into a tree...

It puts a smile on my face.

ps- I love kyle.

Craft Wednesday

Every girl needs time to create.
I wish I could lock myself in my backroom at night just to create something...anything. But I love sleep too much.
Which leaves me craving some creativity.
My Gram is one of the few people in my life that kicks butt at embroidery! She and all her granny friends spend their days slaving away.... embroidering tea towels for their granny church boutique...and let me just say it takes them a really long time to get these babies together and they sell each set of them for $25!!
If only they could meet Etsy...they would make a killing.
Gotta get my Gram hip to Etsy.
Anyway, today I am starting a new embroidery project.
  1. One for me
  2. One for a friend for her soon to be baby.
I'd love to have a whole corner on a wall in my house strictly embroidery, all different size hoops...but I'm guessing it'll take me a bit so we'll see.
I'll show you the finished result once it happens.

PS- Don't you think it would be great to start up a craft group??

Dear Thursday,

While at home tending to my lil' one who had the case of the yuckies, I made every attempt to enjoy my time off.
I scrubbed every nook and every cranny of my lil' house.
I swept our new wood floors, which by the way are the probably the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
Did 10 loads of laundry...I might be exaggerating just a lil'.
Played at the park...
And while at the park Ayden found a worm that had a dried up butt, but was still hanging on for dear life...Ayden was very concerned and asked me if his butt would dry up?
Of course not... Only when we get old.
Then we patiently waited for Brandon to get home from school.
Come home soon we miss you!
Thank you Thursday. We enjoyed your day.
Love,
The Fishers

4 days

In 4 days my boy will be 7 years old!

7 fun facts about Brandon:
  1. He wakes up early on the weekends to make everyone breakfast. Always, chocolate milk with waffles and chocolate sauce. Good & healthy!
  2. He offers me his jacket when it's cold outside.
  3. He collects everything! Small bits of broken toys, cars with missing wheels, paper pamphlets...whenever I start his wash I expect to find many of his treasures.
  4. Loves fruit. All kinds. He doesn't discriminate.
  5. His favorite show is Modern Marvels.
  6. He is an extreme goof ball and loves to make everyone laugh. Be it with an arm fart or a burp. He's all boy!
  7. He remembers everything. If we drive somewhere once, he can tell you how to get there. If he meets a new face, he will remember your face forever.

Happy soon to be birthday Brandon.
I love you!

Quote of the day...In honor of today...

From good ol' Abe.

Who is pretty popular in my house.
Brandon at the top of the list.
He has books.
Watches every History Channel documentary on his life and reads Time Magazine whenever Abe is on the cover.
So in honor of my boy, this post is for you.

Lovely

V-Day was really good.

Just me & the mr.

In Laguna Beach...the place we fell in love.

We ate at the White House, our usual spot. Had chocolate covered strawberries.

We strolled...as old people do.

Looked at art galleries. Pretending to be rich.

And stole a kiss in a red telephone booth...
Isn't it strange that after kissing someone for so long, you can kiss and it's like the first kiss all over again?

Mr. Fisher...

I love you. You make me laugh so hard my face hurts. Thank you for loving me.

Love,

Mrs. Fisher

Pretty Things...Feather Headbands

I've had a major crush on feathered headbands these days.

And I refuse to spend $35 on one...so I made one myself.

All together it cost me $5.99.
Not bad and it's a beauty.

Be Mine

So far my pre-Valentine's Day festivities have been grand.

  • A valentine in the mail from a friend. I love unexpected love in the mail. She's very good at that.
  • My lil' boy made some seriously beautiful artwork for me for Valentine's Day! It's amazing.

Brandon made his Valentine's Day cards for his V-day party today..it's Hulk time!

Plus, we taped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups to each one...he knows how to do it!

Have a great Valentine's Day! I love you all dearly.

PS-

The husband is whisking me away today for a V-day getaway.

To a surprise destination and he did all the planning.

What a guy!

A gift on my windshield

Got into my car and had a lovely note anticipating my arrival.

It just couldn't stay perfect forever...

Accomplishments

So The Husband and I beat Guitar Hero World Tour the other night.
Excited...relived to be over our addiction...but ehh!
We had to battle the devil.
He was a red loser with huge horns and was accompanied by some gnarly pole dancers.
Kids video game? I don't think so.

PS

My stitches are being removed today by Doctor Fisher.
Why??
Because he said he could & not to mention how funny it will be to see him work so hard to gently remove my
4 lil' stitches.
Wish
us
luck!

Update

Well it's been a month since this.
And no new news to share.

My sister came over for a visit with her baby last week...I tested myself to see how I could handle a baby with my two ever growing, ever hyper, ever wild boys.
  • Brandon - is a pro. He loves to help me with everything I do. That boy always has a ton of "Extra Help for Mommy" stars on his chore board at the end of each week.
  • Ayden - well let's just say...not so much. He was jealous. Told me to put baby Noah down. And if I didn't he attempted to climb over Noah and somehow wiggle his body in between the two of us??? My dear sweet boy.

I passed the test. Although I forgot how much work is involved with those lil' guys.

Monday Morning!

Going on 7 solid days of rain and gloom...

My dad sent me a text that said:
"Be careful not to float away. I think Noah needs to build us an Ark."

This is funny and made me laugh.

Din-Din

I tried a new recipe the other night for dinner and the results were ever so tasty!

Menu:

  • Halibut ( I normally don't cook fish, but it was so good)
  • Mashed Cauliflower (consistency & taste of mashed potatoes) with fresh herbs.
  • Sauteed mushrooms, red onions & grape tomatoes.

The duo actually consumed every ounce of the cauliflower thinking it was potatoes!

Being sneaky to get them to eat their veggies is so worth it!

Button's Buttons

I just saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and I am in love.
The movie was amazing.

The part where Cate Blanchet is dancing in a red dress in the moonlight is breathtaking.

Not to mention Brad. Sorry honey. {blush}
I did ask Brad to marry me when I was 13 after watching Legends of the Fall, after all.
I wrote him a letter professing my love and adolescent devotion:

Dear Brad,

I will be 18 on Nov. 10, 1998.
Please meet me here (insert location) on this day for our wedding!

Yours truly, Dena

The letter was returned undeliverable.
Go figure.

P.S.

Tetanus shots are the devil!!
How is it that the shot hurt worse then the gauge & the stitches??

Love

Tis' the season for love.

PHOTOS BY LE LOVE

Currently, the husband and I are doing a daily devotional together about...love...{sigh}.

Yesterday it was about loving your spouse unconditionally.

Sounds easy enough...

"love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
(This was my scripture for the day yesterday...so beautiful.)

So yesterday we had to do something for each other that proves we love each other... To demonstrate our joy in being their partner in marriage...

I sent him this message:
ME: Just so you know...I am yours to keep. I love you period.
HIM: Even if I buy a motorcycle.
(Let me explain this...my husband had a dream that he had a chopper the other night. A really cool chopper and he felt like he was the man so now he can't stop thinking of a owning a bike)
ME: Even if...
HIM: I love you period. Even without a motorcycle.
ME: You always have your dreams...
HIM: I make dreams reality.
ME: Apparently.

LOVE : ACTUALLY.

Stitched

In the midst of doing a heap of dishes last night...I was stabbed!

Stabbed by the corner of a glass plate that apparently had a broken corner
(silly me not to notice?).

Feeling light headed and faint-ish (as only large gashes would do to you), my husband & very concerned children whisked me away to urgent care.

"Mom, are you going to die?"

"Mom...you godts a boo-boo?"

They let me in right away.
My mother in law picked up the boys for dinner.
My husband by my side...taking photos of me and my wound to laugh at the look of concern on my face.

He has one heck of a sense of humor.

After an hour the ordeal was over and I was left with 4 stitches and a tetanus shot
(which my sweet husband told me was going to be injected into my butt...but wasn't thankfully!!)

Is it me or does this man really know how to comfort his wife??
What would I do without him!
