it makes me laugh when people ask if I'm pregnant with my first...
and I say, "No, my third."
and their eyes get big & wide and they say, "Whoa."
Then they walk away.

Picky Eater

I have a picky eater.
His name is Ayden.
Or "Aydee-Boo" if you ask him.

He loves: beans, cheese, & tortillas.
But that's about it.

His love for mexican & dairy has really effected his "schedule."
If you catch my drift.

And I like my babies to poop with ease,
so I've decided to get back to being sneaky with the food I cook in my house.

Yesterday I bought an arsenal of mommy ammo to fight my picky eater.
Secret weapons that I totally get a kick about using because no one even knows...!

First order of business were Chocolate Chip cookies.
Secret ingredients:
1) Flax Seed
2) Wheat Germ
3) Chick Peas
4) Oatmeal
5) Whole Wheat flour

The cookies were actually really good & you couldn't taste a difference (really) plus it has like a 3rd less sugar then a normal cookie...so I could eat a few more and not feel so bad.

Dinner was "Chicken Cigars":
1) Low fat cheese mixed with pureed winter squash.

Wrapped in a tortilla & baked in the oven...that boy didn't know what hit him.


So from here on out, I'm gonna load that boy with a ton of my secret weapons
and
wait
for
him
to
poop til' his hearts content!

Later that night...

Brandon wanted to work out.



They see me do prenatal yoga each night...
They like to do it with me.
It's funny to see the duo do moves made for a woman in her 3rd trimester.
But I don't complain.
I cherish these moments.


So...


Brandon asked if I could show him some "yoga moves."

I was happy to oblige.

We laid down our mats and got to work.



Starting pose, the Downward Dog.

Which apparently Booger was not very fond of.

And he put a stop to it right then & there....

when good dogs attack!

So Booger was sent to bed.

I know he felt bad, his eyes said so.

Love Letter

(7 months)

Dear Lucas,

Your brothers can't wait to meet you!

Last night we prayed together about being your brothers keeper

and we tried to think of who you were gonna look like.

Ayden says, "Luke Skywalker."

Brandon is still convinced that you are a "man-laser."

But none the less, we love you so much.

Oh and while we're on the topic of love...

Mommy could really use a few less toes between her ribs.

And maybe you could help with the back pain a tad?

Wow, this week has been rough.

But it feels so good to get back to what really matters,

our family.

And sweet gifts left for me by my husband.

Sunshine

I have two friends who just had babies.
And I haven't been able to come see them since they live pretty far away.
So I wanted to send them a little something to brighten there day.

Having a new baby is so much work.
So many late nights, not a lot of sleep ... so I thought a little

sunshine in a box might cheer them up.

Ayden got a hold of my camera.

Here is what I found when I plugged it in today:

I didn't edit the photos for fear I would lose something so special.

The big day

THE DAY BEFORE THE BIG DAY:

What started with cupcakes.
Ended with a quick trip to Urgent Care:
which lasted for 2 hours.
Ayden has bronchitis.

But we still celebrated the big day to come with late night cupcakes.

We talked about going into 2nd grade, and Brandon tried on all his clothes to find the best outfit.

THE BIG DAY:

Oatmeal, toast & water.

Then off to school.

He was so excited!

I was really sad.

My boy is growing up way too fast.

I can't wait to hear all the details of his big day!

Get Ready

Tomorrow Brandon starts 2nd grade!

I can't believe it.

Today he is at Disneyland with his best friend for some last day of summer fun.

Tonight I have a special dinner planned for him.
and chocolate cupcakes.

But it's a surprise.

Shhshh - Don't tell.

I hope he won't be too tired.

But really, is anyone ever too tired for a cupcake?

Books

I made the duo their very own library bags for our visits to the library.
We might not live in the most beautiful of towns, but we have a great library.
And they love it.


Taking them to the library reminds me so much of when I was lil' and my grandma would take me and my sister to the Covina library.

At 7, I was slightly obsessed with the Elephant Man.

Don't ask me why?

And I'm sure the librarian thought I was slightly peculiar.
And I was probably the only one to actually check out those books...

It's fun to share these memories with them now minus the Elephant Man.

I let them pick 3 books each (although I always keep a index card in my wallet of children's books I really think we should read...so I might sway their decision just a tad).

But in the end we can home with:

Monster Party

They like what they like.
And there's nothing better than that.
